never be the same

bracing the turmoil
brazenly tired in my skin
i flesh it out of my
twenty first century skull
with no apparent pause
and with my hand cut
to the quick sands
of the moons crust
these nails bitten
for a weary soul
i explain my hiatus
and lay awake in a
photograph of cool soil
the dirt that grows
many seeds of trust
within those thirsty belongings
that lay beside the lawn
where the grass is burned
and the sun is laid its waste
of a parched dry land
this is my tongue on fire
where no habitation
desires to perform
to lay a tired head
upon the rock where
foxes have no holes
and where the son of
david had not place to
lay his soul’s center
of cerebral functioning
while you poured out
the life of your body
bleeding internally
and externally
i was that beggar
on the other side
who only wanted
one piece of bread
as i walked away
from the water flowing
from the rock
where anger
decided to take
things into its own
hands and evaporate
freedoms dancing
but before everything
was finished
you ascended from the stillness
of hells front porch
and took my hand
and told me who i was
and that i will never
be the same
